in the urban district of El Ejido and approximately 30 kms from
the capital.

Located in the Almerimar Tourist Complex, 6 kms. away from El Ejido
and on the sea side, this course, opened in 1976 has a beautiful
landscape because of the gardens and trees of the Complex.
It has broad and shaded fairways surrounded by the exuberant complex
vegetation adding difficulty to greens approaching. Well positioned
bunkers and water traps, being hole 12th. one of the most challenging
as the green is in the centre of a lake, giving a tee-shoot 100
metres of water.
The club has a splendid bar and restaurant service, swimming pool,
tennis courts and buggies, clubs and carts to hire.
It was designed by Kirby-Player and Associates, and under the chairmanship
of Mr. Takeyuki Kawaguchi, it is managed by D. Pedro Zamarra with
the technical help of Juan Parrón.
The four stars Almerimar Hotel is in the same complex, and Almeria
airport at just 48kms. away.

Very near the sea side, between Turre and Mojacar, Cortijo Grande
Golf Club was designed by Paul Jay Polansky and opened in 1976.
This is a flat nine holes course winding through groves of orange
and lemon trees, and it is under the management of Mr. Bernie Dobson.
Although the club house is not yet built, there is a very close
bar-restaurant, and so is the Mojacar National Inn (Parador Nacional
de Mojacar).

Playa Serena Golf Club is situated between a fabulous unspoiled beach,
and 9 lakes, 7 of which are natural. The course, on the coast of Almería
and just 20 km from the capital, is also just 15 mins from the airport.
To get to the club, take the N-340 (Almería-Málaga)
and turn off for Roquetas de Mar. From here, follow the directions
for Playa Serena.

Five kilometres from Roquetas de Mar, in the Playa Serena Complex,
was opened in 1979 this 18 holes course designed by Angel Gallardo
and Peter Allis, is mainly flat with small sloping greens, most
of which are protected by sand and water traps. Winds from the east
and west make it a considerable challenge.
Under the chairmanship of D. Francisco Mendoza and the management
of D. Enrique J. Ruiz Roca, the club offers a splendid bar-restaurant,
shops and swimming pool, together with the facilities of buggies,
carts and clubs to hire. The club professional is D. Francisco Parrón.

On the Almería to Murcia motorway, take the Cuevas de Almanzora
exit. 6 kms. further along, there is a junction where you take the
road to Vera. 3 kms. later there is another junction: head for Palomares.

It is in the "last forgotten corner" of the Mediterranean
coast of South East Spain, on a plateau overlooking the Almazora
Valley, with easy access from the brand new international airports
of Almeria (40 minutes) and Alicante (1 hour 50 minutes), that Desert
Spring has constructed Europe's firt and only Arizona style desert
golf course.
The Indiana course, designed by Peter McEvoy has been built to
full U.S.G.A. specifications and when stretched to its full length
of 6179 metres, offers the golfers new, unseen and unique challenges.
Each platformed tee is surrounded by cactus, rocks and flowering
plantations and each hole has features that can be brought into
play - the springs, watercourses, dry river beds, rock and cactus
areas and bunkers are strategically located to examine the skills
of golfers of all standards. Whilst playing, golfers can absorb
the awesome landscape and spectacular views that encompass the Indiana,
benefiting from light sea breezes that temper the summer heat.
The front 9 holes begin in a notherly direction and then return
to finish with a 362 metre dogleg right par 4, demanding accuracy
from the tee, with a watercourse fed from a desert spring running
alongside the fairway with the approach of the green protected by
a desert area.

This new golf course, designed by Ramón Espinosa, opens
up the eastern Almeria region to Andalucia's ongoing golf/tourism
boom.
Marina Golf Mojacar is sited within the Marina de la Torre estate
overlooking the sea at the foot of the hill from which the whitewashed
Moorish town of Mojacar dominated the surrounding area.
With over 5000 hours of sun per year and an annual average temperature
of 20 degrees we can expect to hear a lot more about this enclave.
Maria Golf covers 5.465 metres. Spectacular views await the golfer
on the 3rd. tee with the par-5 hole dropping dramatically 65 metres
towards a lake and green some 485 metres distant.

Although it would seem that Francisco Mendoza designed this course
for players who want to enjoy a pleasant round of golf instead of
frustating them with a dificult layout, La Envia does present some
challenging holes.
The par-5 fourth hole is a case in point, and the third shot is
crucial for players who are angling for a birdie.
The whole course measures a moderate 5.860 metres and there is no
rough.
Located between Enix and El Parador, just off the Almeria-Adra highway,
La Envia is nice for a day's outing and has a spacious clubhouse
with an excelent restaurant.

The promoting company, Valle del Este Resort S.L., is promoting
a tourist residential complex, with a golf course, in the municipality
of Vera, an Andalusian town, situated on the South East coast of
Almería.
The Valle del Este Resort occupies a 108 hectare site, next to
the Mediterranean dual carriageway, 70 kms from the airport at Almería,
and 7 kms from the beaches of Vera and Garrucha.
Its facilities offer: a 4-star hotel, 142 rooms (including 10 suites),
18-hole Golf Course, Sports Club, Commercial Centre, Nature Trail
